FRATERNAL ORDERS

Box 178

We Met Upon the Level(89 items)
Although in general these pieces are comparatively modern, of the period represented by "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" and lauding one college fraternity after another, we take due cognizance of the national orders like the Odd Fellows, Elks and Masons. Their songs are mostly of the 19th century and one Masonic number was produced in the 18th century.

The slim folio of fraternal music has half a dozen rarities such as "We Meet Upon the Level" and there are other serious pieces as well. In fact most of the song writers treat this subject with respect.
