Frequently Asked Questions About the Levy Database
How do I print a piece of music?
Printing depends wholly
upon your system and the type of software and printer you have. You
can simply use the Print function of your web browser or save the image
and print it from a graphics program of your choice. However, please
keep in mind the requirements of copyright
and reproduction.
How
can I get copies of the music on this site?
We are happy to provide photocopies
for personal use. Prepayment is required. The fee is 25 cents per page,
with a minimum charge of $3 per order. For large orders, there may be
an additional $10/hour service charge. Click here for
the order form.
I
found a text record for this title, but there are no thumbnail images
accompanying it. Is this a mistake?
Probably not. More likely, it was
published after 1922, and is not in the public domain. Therefore, we
cannot include the music on the database. Another possibility is that
the music and cover are duplicated elsewhere. Check to see if the text
record reads "Duplication." If it
reads, "cover and music same as Box --, Item --", you must
look at the original item.
What about lyrics? Could you email me the lyrics
to a song?
Because of the large number of requests we receive, and because
of copyright restrictions, it is not possible to email lyrics. However
you may obtain a copy of the title for personal use. The fee is 25 cents
per page, with a minimum charge of $3 per order. For large orders, there
may be an additional $10/hour service charge. Prepayment is required.

You
don't have a title that I'm looking for. Can you help me locate it?
There
are a number of websites that might contain the title you seek. Enter
the phrase “sheet music” in any web search engine and
you will find numerous entries. A fairly comprehensive list of sheet
music resources may be found at http://library.duke.edu/music/sheetmusic/collections.html
